Personalization
The Personalization section controls what Kognar Chat remembers about you and how it uses that knowledge during conversations.
Changes here are applied with the Save Changes button.
Memory
Kognar learns from your conversations to give more personalized responses. Memories are stored locally on your device.
Enable Memory
Toggle Enable Memory on to let Kognar remember information from your conversations. A background analysis then runs once a day, extracting things like:
- What you're currently working on
- Your professional role and projects
- Your goals and priorities
- How you prefer to communicate
That memory is silently included as background context in conversations that aren't assigned to a project. Conversations inside a project use that project's own instructions instead.
How Memory works
The panel explains it in the app too: Kognar automatically extracts key preferences, facts and context from your conversations. The data is processed locally and is never shared with third parties.
View last analysis
Click View last analysis to see exactly what was extracted in the most recent run — full transparency into what the assistant knows about you. Click again to hide it. Before the first run, the panel says no analysis has happened yet.
Clear All Memories
Removes the stored context extracted from your conversations. You are asked to confirm; the action cannot be undone.
Help about Kognar
The same section explains the in-app product help: when you ask how to use the app — features, settings, shortcuts — Kognar can include excerpts from the official documentation at docs.kognar.com. The guide ships bundled with the app and checks for updates once a day in the background. It works even with personal memory turned off.

Controls how Kognar references previous conversations and stored memories during active chats.

Privacy
Memory data is:
- Stored locally on your device
- Tied to your account — other users cannot see it
- Never sent to third parties
Disabling memory stops future extractions, and existing memory is no longer injected into conversations.
