About

The About section shows version information, system details, and provides access to important resources. It is also where the app identifies itself as Kognar Chat, the desktop chat client of Kognar Platform.

App information​

  • Version — The current version of Kognar Chat
  • Platform — Your operating system
  • Electron — The Electron runtime version
  • Chromium — The browser engine version
  • Node.js — The Node.js runtime version

Updates​

Click Check for Updates to see whether a newer version of Kognar Chat is available. If you're already current, you'll see "You're up to date!"; otherwise the new version number is shown. In builds where updating is handled for you, the section says updates are managed by the application instead.

When a new version is available, a notification banner also appears automatically on app startup.

What's new after an update​

The first time you open Kognar after updating, a version welcome screen may appear — a title, a short summary, an illustration, and a badge marking the highlight as NEW, UPDATE or FIX. The content comes from the release server when it's available.

You can follow the suggested action button, or dismiss it with Later. Either way it does not appear again for that version. The full release notes stay available under Changelog.
